I just got back from a fabulous trip to Greece! I spent a few days in Athens but spent the majority of my time on the lovely (Greek) island of Paros. It was amazing and, as always, I brought along my sketchbook. While I was in Paros I hung out with my (world cLAss) artist friend Jun-Pierre Shiozawa. He’s currently teaching at The Aegean Center for the Fine Arts and has his studio in Paros. Initially, I questioned his love for this small Greek island but only after a few days of being blow away by the local eateries, lovely people, scenic views and breath taking sunsets I couldn’t image a better place to (semi-)disconnect from the world, tap into your senses and create. If your ever in Greece I strongly suggest you jump on a ferry and checkout Paros! Also, if your looking for a unique place/school to strengthen your skills as an artist that’s never in short supply of picturesque views/sunsets I strongly suggest you look into The Aegean Center for the Arts (in Paros)!
I feel so lucky to have experienced Greece/Paros through the eyes of my good friend Jun. He and his work have inspired me on so many levels and I can’t thank him enough for bring me into his world and for the many priceless ‘moments of excellence’ throughout the trip. Be sure to checkout his work!!
I’ve posted a few of my photos from the trip below and in a previous post.
